Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Dr. (Sen.) Olorunnimbe Adeleke Mamora said that the global Community is driven by Science, Technology and Innovation of which Nigeria is gradually transforming from resource to Knowledge based Economy.
Mamora said this when the Nasarawa State commissioner of Science, Technology and Innovation paid a courtesy visit to the Ministry in Abuja recently.
According to the Minister ‘’we must key into Science, Technology and Innovation which is the building block of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics’’ (STEM).
The Minister commended the commissioner for coming to the Ministry to understudy the activities of the Ministry and urged the team to work together in order to achieve the set goals in the state.
He therefore charged them to leverage on the principles of 5c which is Co-operation, Collaboration, Coordination, Communication and cordiality in mind, saying it will help them achieve their mandates.
To this end, Mamora commended the State Governor Engr. Sule Abdullahi for the re-establishment of the Science, Technology and Innovation Ministry in the State.
Earlier, the Commissioner of Science, Technology and Innovation, Professor Umaru Mikail Gurku said that the purpose of their visit is to understudy the activities of the Ministry and to solicit for assistance with documents and technical knowhow that will help guide the STI policies in the State.
He further said that the State is soliciting for technical support from the Ministry in the establishment of the State of the Art Laboratory and in the organisation of STI EXPO in the State.
